A sculpture made up of different architectural style buildings in Philadelphia. Made primarily out of wood.

snakes and ladders

Drawing inspiration from the historic game Snakes and Ladders, this interactive piece traces a path through stacked fragments of iconographic Philadelphia architecture, rooted in the game’s origins as a moral framework of virtue and vice.  The work reflects the cultural push to keep climbing in pursuit of success, while acknowledging the precarious and often unpredictable consequences embedded within that rise.

Materials are plywood, brass, sapele, poplar, maple, milkpaint.
